Here is Oprah's statement regarding having Governor Palin on her show.
"At the beginning of this presidential campaign when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates."
Except THIS ONE!

First off let me be at least one of the first ten thousand bloggers to congratulate John McCain on his choice for VP. After watching Sarah's speech last night I can completely understand his reasoning for choosing her. She was articulate and to the point and personified the American "hockey mom" (although here in Texas we call them "soccer moms" due to lack of ice).
My wife and I watched her speech and we both were literally nervous for her at the beginning. With Rudy Giuliani giving such a good introduction and setting the expectations so high the pressure on Sarah to perform well must have been tremendous. When the crowd wouldn't stop cheering for what seemed like eternity we were both wondering if she was even going to be able to quiet them down to even give her speech. However, being the well mannered Republicans they are the crowd quieted down as soon as she sta&

I'm finishing up my last day of a great vacation. It is seven days of pure American history. Two days in Philadelphia, three days in Washington D.C. and finally 2 days in Williamsburg Virginia. The first couple of days my family and I saw Independence Hall - the birthplace of the Declaration of Indepedence. We saw the Liberty Bell which rang loudly on 7/4/1776 when our founding fathers committed treason and risked their necks for our liberty.
In Washington D.C. we saw the Lincoln Memorial, the National Archives with the signed documents of the Declaration, the Constitution and the bill of rights. We also visited the Capitol building (the source of idiocy these days) and the Washington Monument. We also stopped by the Vietnam memorial where my wife and I were both touched by the various birthday cards and other momentos left by family members. Knowing that these soldiers forever memorialized ...

When you watch the news do you ever get the feeling that Barack Obama is already our President? That the only thing we are really waiting on is come November we can put the crown on him and bow down calling him your majesty? After some basic research into the sheer number of web pages our so called unbiased media has produced I have discovered why.
Read the full article for details on how the American people are being led by the noses into voting for this man.

Sometimes I am very proud of my fellow Americans and other times I get pushed to the edge of my patience. The constant complaints about the price of gas and oil companies ripping off consumers have finally gotten to me though and I have to say enough is enough!
What happened to the American spirit that brought on the Boston Tea Party back in 1773? Back then, the British Crown was gouging Americans with the hated Stamp Act; remember No Taxation without Representation? However, instead of just complaining about the tax and rolling over to our English masters some true American patriots were fed up with the system and fought back by dumping the precious English Tea into Boston Harbor.

In 2006 Corey Glass fled from his country to Canada seeking refugee status so he would not have to fight in Iraq or Afghanistan. As it turns out though the Canadian government is not as soft on deserters as it has been in the past during the Vietnam war.
It turns out that the difference is conscription. During the Vietnam war many soldiers were drafted and had little choice in the matter as to whether they would fight or not. However, the days of the military draft are long gone and the only people in the service are people that willingly signed up and volunteered.
The Canadian Immigration Ministry sees the difference quite clearly and is not granting the refugee status deserters such as Glass are seeking. Poor Mr. Glass is now scheduled to be deported back to the United States July 10th.
Corey joined the National Guard in 2002. So he did absolutely know that there was a chance that he would see action. We were already fighting the Taliban i ...

Yesterday, Barack Obama gave a speech to a crowd in Independence Missouri where he had to defend his patriotism. Mr. Obama described how over the past sixteen months he has had his patriotism challenged by some of you out there.
I personally find it quite distasteful that there are people out there that would actually challenge Mr. Obama’s patriotism. His wife, Michelle Obama clearly said:
“For the first time in my adult lifetime, I'm really proud of my country."

How can you possibly question Barack’s patriotism when he is married to her? She may not have been proud of her country before but now that the American people worship her husband in a very “fundy” type fashion she has found that her patriotic taste has chang ...
